Travel Tips
We are excited to see you soon for our #DICELakeComo conference! In case this is your first time coming to Lake Como or need a few reminders, here are some items you may want to prepare before your trip:
The weather in Lake Como is currently cooling down, ranging from the 55 to 70 degrees Fahrenheit or 13 to 21 degrees Celsisus. We suggest bringing a versatile jacket, comfortable walking shoes, and an umbrella in case it rains.
Lake Como includes many activities such as taking a sightseeing boat adventure to Bellagio to eating amazing culinary delights such as at Kitchen Como, a Michelin-starred restaurant onsite at the Sheraton (information and reservations at www.kitchencomo.com). Find more suggestions on what to do during your Lake Como trip here.
Here are transportation tips on how to get to the Sheraton Lake Como from Milan.
- Taxis are the most direct way to get the Sheraton Lake Como. More info about cab service can be found at the following links:
- Train service is also available to Lake Como. From all major Milan airports, please take the train to Milano Centrale.
- Once you get to Milano Centrale, please check train timetables for the best route to Lake Como as there are various trains available to take and the best exit that is for you (usually Como S. Giovani). From there, you can either take a cab from S Giovanni to the hotel or take the C25 bus to Pontile Tavernola. (Note: We advise trying to get train tickets shortly before you arrive for ease of travel, but you will usually be able to buy train tickets as well at the station.)
- Ferries and boat tours on Lake Como are another means of exploring the lake and its surrounding towns. You can take either a public or private trip, directly to a specific destination or with intermediate stops. Tickets for the public ferry can be purchased online on Navigazione Laghi's website (www.navigazionelaghi.it for regular service trips. Just remember to buy your ticket before getting on board! There are many private boats available as well, which can be found here: lakecomotravel.com/boat-tours-ferry-lake-como/#public-tours
